Resident Purrofile:
Hi! I'm Moto! My foster tells me I’m a sweet boy and really handsome, with striking green eyes and black panther-like coat. (But that makes me blush. I’m a humble guy!) I was left to fend for myself on the streets, after my owners lost their living space and abandoned me. I found some feral feline "friends" and ran with "the pack" for a while, although some of them weren’t very friendly to me. It was probably because of this that I am FIV+. Because of this new life, I did gain some "street smarts." But I didn’t let that harden my heart. While the ferals ignored humans except for feeding time, I was still fond of humans and liked to be pet. I’d come running and throw myself on the ground for some human touch!

I do talk quite a bit now, through purrs and cute meows. My foster Mom is teaching me how to snuggle, and I am learning how to use my kitty bed. (But I much prefer the bed where the humans sleep!) I’m learning quickly how to fully trust again and getting more comfortable every day. I allow my foster Mom to hold me now and I’ll snuggle into the nook of her arm. I’m so happy to have a warm and friendly home. (It’s so much better than the run-down abandoned home with the cold cement I used to sleep on.)

I’ve forgiven how the humans treated me in the past and am learning this “indoor cat" thing pretty quickly ... and I’m loving it! I am really looking forward to finding my forever family and live as an indoor cat in a home with a kind, caring, and patient family.

FIV+ means that a kitty has a compromised immune system. An FIV+ kitty may never show any symptoms, and can live just as long as a normally healthy one. FIV+ kitties can live with other FIV+ kitties, and can also live with FIV- kitties (as long as there is no aggressive fighting or biting between them). FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds—like you might see between aggressive or territorial cats living outdoors. FIV cannot be transmitted though a shared food dish, water dish, or litter box.
